Looking for Women's Volleyball Players

The Real Presence Radio Women's Volleyball Team is in need of two more players for the Tuesday night winter league starting next Tuesday and ending in February. Cost is $34.50 per player and games are played at Ellen Hopkins Elementary in south Moorhead. Game times are 7:30pm and 8:15pm. Please email fmcyainfo@gmail.com if you are interested.

All Souls Day Mass, Cemetery Visit and Dinner - Tuesday, November 2nd

We'll meet at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church for All Souls Day Mass at 5:15pm followed by a visit to the cemetery to pray for the dead (the Holy Souls in Purgatory) and have the opportunity to acquire a Plenary Indulgence for them.  We'll go out for dinner at a sit down restaurant (TBD) and discuss Indulgences, Purgatory and Saints.  Please email fmcyainfo@gmail.com to RSVP.

Guys Night - Thursday, November 4th @ 6:30pm

Young Catholic men! You are invited to join in a group that meets monthly to celebrate our faith and share an evening of fellowship.  A typical evening consists of prayer, education, or discussion beginning around 6:30 and lasting 20-45 minutes.  We then follow with some form of fun fellowship activities.  (Typical activities have included: backyard football and volleyball, cards, board games (Settlers of Catan), bowling, Xbox Rockband, and Texas Hold’em poker.)  Some snacks and beverages (soda and beer) are provided, but you are invited to BYOB if you desire.  (Attendees must be over the age of 21.)  Guy’s fun night is typically held on the first Thursday of the month.  Please send an email to guys.fun.night@gmail.com for additional information or to join the group.

I will be ordering books for anyone interested next week so please let me know if you want me to order you a book.  Cost of the books are $10.17 on Amazon, but the Young Adults will cover some of the cost so it will be just $6 each if you get your book through me.

NFP Awareness Week: July 25th - 31st

Next week is Natural Family Planning Awareness week.

If you don't know much about NFP you should look into it, you won't regret it - couples who practice NFP have a divorce rate of less than 4%!

Sheyenne River Valley Expedition

Come on an extended weekend of spirituality and outdoor adventure in the beautiful Sheyenne River Valley.
Each day will include celebration of the Holy Eucharist, morning and evening prayer, outdoor expeditions and great food and Catholic fellowship.  June 25-27th, cost is $60 for food and lodging (please register by June 23rd).

Next Book Club Book for August: The Quiet Light by Louis De Wohl

Voting for the next book for the Young Adult Book Club has completed!  We'll be reading The Quiet Light by Louis De Wohl and meeting in the middle of August for discussion.  I've read it and it is quite good.

Here's a synopsis:
"A stimulating historical novel about the great St. Thomas Aquinas, set against the violent background of the Italy of the Crusades. He tells the intriguing story of St. Thomas who - by taking a vow of poverty and joining the Dominicans - defied his illustrious, prominent family's ambition for him to have great power in the Church."

We'll serve at the Dorothy Day Food Pantry.  We will meet there (1308 Main Ave, Moorhead) and we will be working with the Senior High students from St. Joe's to help serve.  We'll be done by 8pm.

Friday, April 23rd at 6pm - Pray to end abortion followed by burgers!  We'll meet and pray the Rosary at the abortion mill (512 First Avenue North, Fargo) at 6pm and then we'll enjoy some burgers from J.L. Beers next door!

On Wednesday, April 14th at 6pm we'll serve those in need at the Dorothy Day Food Pantry.  We will meet there (1308 Main Ave, Moorhead) and we will be serve alongside the Senior High students from St. Joe's.  We'll be done by
8pm.  No need to RSVP, just show up!

Trolley Ride - Monday, April 12th

Monday, April 12th at 5:45pm we'll meet in the St. Joe's West parking lot for our annual Young Adult Trolley Ride.  There will be food, games, fun and if we'll keep up our streak of learning about wine by going on a tour of the Maple River Winery in Casselton.  Cost is $7 per person.  Space is limited so if you're interested RSVP ASAP by emailing me.
